What you'll find here:

This blog is a collection of vintage advertisements, posted Monday through Friday. All ads are scans from magazines in my collection (or those of my friends), so I claim no copyright over them. Remember, these ads are from bygone eras: don't get upset if you see something you don't like, nor excited if you see something you do.

If you particularly like an ad and want a hi-res copy for yourself, email or message me and I can send you one.

More Denim, from Graniteville

Playboy Sept. 1966
Apparently, London is sideways, likes Coca-Cola and Skol, flies Air India, and wears denim.  Eh, close enough to America, I guess.

Wrangler Jeans and Jacket

Playboy Sept. 1966
Hey, the 90's called.
They wanted to thank you for the great idea.  Apparently denim-on-denim became a thing at some point.  Good job.

That guy must be addicted something awful.  Just look at his shoes.

Tiparillo, and Violinists

Playboy Nov. 1967
Here's another Tiparillo ad, from the same vein as this one, which focuses on seducing confusingly scantily-clad professionals with cigarettes.

Arpege

Playboy Nov. 1967
Yes, yes, that sounds like good advice.  Lie.  Lie your face off to your woman.  Lie your stupid face all the way off.
Yes, I'll get you that dress, and that bracelet you liked.  New car?  Sure!  Cruise to Aruba?  Done.
But come Christmas morn, she opens that box with bated breath and eyes full of anticipation to see her shiny new... $5 spray perfume  (about $35 in current money).

Smart.  See you in the doghouse.
