What you'll find here:

This blog is a collection of vintage advertisements, posted Monday through Friday. All ads are scans from magazines in my collection (or those of my friends), so I claim no copyright over them. Remember, these ads are from bygone eras: don't get upset if you see something you don't like, nor excited if you see something you do.

If you particularly like an ad and want a hi-res copy for yourself, email or message me and I can send you one.

Tareyton Cigarettes

Playboy Sept. 1964
Ahhhh, Tareyton.  This is one of the many such ads Tareyton ran featuring bruised and battered people (men and women alike, put down your feminism pitchforks) defending their favorite smoke.  I referenced these ads in this ad a while back.  Now, I understand the sentiment that Tareyton is trying to express with these ads, but seriously, when was the last time punches were thrown over which brand cigarette to smoke?
 Ad text:
There's a difference you can see in the filter. Look, Tareyton has a white outer filter, and an inner filter of Activated Charcoal... fine granules of Activated Charcoal in pure cellulose.
It makes a difference you can taste in the smoke.  The Activated Charcoal filter works with the white filter to actually improve the flavor of Tareyton's fine tobaccos... and deliver a more fully balanced taste than you've enjoyed before.
