What you'll find here:

This blog is a collection of vintage advertisements, posted Monday through Friday. All ads are scans from magazines in my collection (or those of my friends), so I claim no copyright over them. Remember, these ads are from bygone eras: don't get upset if you see something you don't like, nor excited if you see something you do.

If you particularly like an ad and want a hi-res copy for yourself, email or message me and I can send you one.

Hitachi 4-4rack Stereo

Playboy Oct. 1968
I didn't even know they made a 4-track.  I thought it was just 8-track.

Tromblee Prevents Smoking

Playboy Sept. 1964
This interesting ad employs the unique and creative strategy of using anti-smoking to sell shirts.
If you wear these shirts, and keep your cigarettes in a buttoned pocket, it'll be harder for your friends to steal them, so they'll be more likely to quit.  Tenuous logic, I think, but a strategy I've never seen before.
