What you'll find here:

This blog is a collection of vintage advertisements, posted Monday through Friday. All ads are scans from magazines in my collection (or those of my friends), so I claim no copyright over them. Remember, these ads are from bygone eras: don't get upset if you see something you don't like, nor excited if you see something you do.

If you particularly like an ad and want a hi-res copy for yourself, email or message me and I can send you one.

Khadine, by Yardley

Concord Tape Recorder

Playboy Jan 1969
Man, how technology progresses.  This machine is absolutely gargantuan.  To think that in 40-some years, we can fit thousands of times more music in a device a thousand times smaller than this.

Yashica Cameras

Playboy Jan. 1969
I've never heard of Yashica, which makes sense because they got bought up and stopped producing cameras in 2005.  They must have been good though, since that $115 price tag works out to about $740 in 2014 dollars.

Twofer Thursday

Playboy Sept. 1964

I'm really not sure where one would wear Playboy jewelry, but I'm assuming nowhere in public.
Maybe Playboy once had a classier reputation?

Madisonaire Style

Playboy Sept. 1964
Yes, the ad looks like it was scribbled by a highlighter.
No, that wasn't done afterward by a 5-year-old.  It's intentionally yellow.

Michaels-Stern Suits

Playboy Sept. 1964
Just so everyone's on the same page, that $75 suit would be $550 in modern money.
